GRATITUDE

Image
What are you grateful for? This is the question that popped up in my mind as I was about to write this. With everything going on in your life, the ones happening around you, the ones you see and those that you Don't see, the ones you felt, the ones you Don't even know about. What are you grateful for?  Do you know that gratitude isn't only a physical thing. It is a spiritual exercise that makes you to think deeply and unveils the beauty of all circumstances. Gratitude is a state of being thankful and a readiness to show appreciation for something or to return kindness. Let me share my experience with you. There was a day I made up my mind that as I wake up daily, the first thing that must come out of my mouth is “Lord I'm grateful”. As little as this word is, it changed me. It got to a point whereby when I'm sleeping, I utter that word and I wake up with a very strong energy to start my day with. Ever since I've been doing that, I feel strength that is beyond ...

FINDING YOUR WHY

Image
We all desire to live a very good life. A comfortable and an interesting life is what we all desire. Most people term good life as a life filled with wealth, children, family, enjoyment etc. But that's not what a good life is. Those things are just additional things not the main thing. So what exactly is a good life? A good life is a Purposeful and a Fulfilling life. To live a good life isn't just about being purposeful but also Fulfilling.  There's a reason why you were created. You weren't just an accident or a product of biological entanglement. You were made for a reason. There's a purpose tied to your making. God created you with a purpose in mind. You finding this purpose is what what gives you a purposeful life. You walking in that purpose based on the way God has planned it is what will make you to live a fulfilled life. Let me give an example for proper understanding. Probably God's purpose for your life is to be a teacher. You know that. But the way ...

PEACE! BE STILL

Image
The word peace means “a stress free state of security and calmness that comes when there's no fighting or war, everything coexisting in perfect harmony and freedom”.  Most times we think that it is when the environment is in chaos that's when there's no peace. Absolutely not! This will lead me to the 2 types of peace we have; 1) Internal peace : This is the peace within you. It is mostly called peace of mind. That is, the state of your mind. I want you to look within yourself. Right now, do you have the internal peace?  2) External peace : This is the peace from your environment. That is what is going on around you.  This two type of peace have their own way of affecting eachother simultaneously. Many of us are currently experiencing lack of Internal peace. While to some, they Are experiencing lack of external peace. Today, I want to introduce you to a kind of peace that is eternal.  Let's look at Mark 4:35-39 35  And the same day, when the even was come, he sai...

STRETCH YOURSELF

Image
We are in a world whereby everything is moving fast. Nothing is just stable. Even the environment has it own way of adapting to new seasons. Today, we will be studying about Stretching yourself. What does it means to STRETCH? Many of us get frustrated when God opens up season of enlargement of capacity unto us. We get weary, frustrated, uncomfortable with what God is bringing into our lives. Before we go deep in our talk for today, let's study the word STRETCH.  According to the dictionary, stretch means “to lengthen by pulling”. Another definition that really got me is “to extend from a limit point to a limit point”. I want us to study this two definition. For example, when you pick up a rubber band, it has it's normal shape, size and diameter. That is the way the manufacturer packaged it. As Small as a rubber band is, it has the capacity to expand. This is the inbuilt capacity of the rubber band. You can stretch it as much as you can till it reach the limit at which it can...

THE GREENER PASTURE

Image
As we all know that PASTURE  is land covered with grass and other low plants for gazing animals, especially cattles and sheep. It can also means a place of abundance. A place of enjoyment.  Psalm 23:2 GNB - He let me find rest in Fields of green grass and leads me to quiet pool of fresh water. KJV - He maketh me to lie down in Green pastures. He leadeth me beside the still waters.  This verse is our major verse for today. As Christians, many of us are in search of a green pasture. Truly we all have ambitions, goals and visions. We all want to live a comfortable Life but many are doing this in the wrong way. Many had left their purpose to search for a green pasture not knowing that your their pasture is in their purpose.  Every human on earth has a purpose for being created. There is a reason why God created you. That you are still alive today even in the face of challenges, is a reminder that God isn't done with you yet. There is a mandate tied t...

THE POTTER AND I

Image
Jeremiah 18:1-6 GNB The LORD said to me, “Go down to the potter's house, where I will give you my message.” So I went there and saw the potter working at his wheel. Whenever a piece of pottery turned out imperfect, he would take the clay and make it into something else. Then the LORD said to me, “Haven't I the right to do with you people of Israel what the potter did with the clay? You are in my hands just like clay in the potter's hands.            A simple definition of a Potter is “a maker of vessels”. The Hebrew word for potter is translated as “former” i.e someone who create someone. He moulds. On the other hand, Clay is defined as “an earthen material that is sticky and easily moulded when wet and hard when baked. As Christians, we know that God is the Potter and we, as his creatures are his Clay. The mistake most people make is that they don't know the difference between clay and pot. Let's look at this concept figuratively. Clay is like “i d...

“Keep running Michael!” my dad told me while we were both on the sport field training for my school inter house sport. I was chosen as the last person to run In a relay race for my team. My dad is a very supportive man. Apart from that, he is a sporty type. He loves sport and physical fitness. Yeah! My dad has a good body shape and that's my goal too but when I see how he trains in the gym I used to be like “damn I can't do this”. My dad oftentimes smiles about that word. I am not a lazy guy though but there are some excersise I don't want to ever try. Ever since I was selected to be the last runner in the relay race, I've been trying what I think I can't do. My dad often make me to run round a whole field. My dad never told me “you did well”after every run. He is found of saying you can do better! And sometimes it sucks ahnnnn!! We train daily till the D-Day Finally, everyone is set. My competitors are much more better at running than I do. I've seen them run...
